Sheffield Food Tours

A bold brand refresh for the Sheffield indie business

Supporting Sheffield businesses is the heart of what we do, so it was an honour to help fellow Sheffield business owner, Sophie, who does exactly that in the hospitality and events sector.

ABOUT SHEFFIELD FOOD TOURS

Building on their success, what began as Kelham Island Food Tours has expanded to offer guided experiences across the city centre, along with a self-guided option via an app. Sheffield Food Tours blend incredible food and drink with the city’s rich heritage, local landmarks, and cultural stories.

Whether you’re a real foodie, into real ale, or a proper history buff, there’s a tour for you. Their ‘Taste of’ and ‘Beer and Food’ tours take you on several tasting stops with easy walks and lively chats in between. The ‘History and Brunch’ tour dives deep into local stories with a two-hour guided walk, capped off with a tasty brunch. Or, if you’re looking for something a little different, for over eight guests they can organise a private tour just for your group.

THE PROJECT

With the expansion from Kelham Island into the city centre, a brand refresh was essential to reflect this exciting growth. The original logo, designed by a local creative, featured the Bessemer, a fitting tribute to the area’s industrial heritage. Honouring this legacy, we evolved the brand identity while introducing new elements to enhance its impact.

A map pin icon, bold typography, and a dynamic strapline brought fresh energy to the new responsive logo. To complement this, we developed a striking colour palette, blending heritage tones with vibrant hues inspired by the city’s street art.

To further reinforce the map concept, we crafted a bespoke illustrated background, weaving in food and drink imagery alongside playful dotted path lines. This visual storytelling continued across a suite of social graphics and eye-catching flyers, ensuring the brand’s new identity was both cohesive and compelling.
